KW&SB signs MoU with NED varsity



KARACHI – Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KW&SB) managing director said that the organisation was dedicated to provide clean drinking water to the citizens.
The KW&SB would improve performance of our laboratories and filter plants to ensure that water supplied to citizens is up to the WHO standards and water samples are taken properly. He stated this during a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony between KW&SB and NED University on Wednesday.
Following the MoU, Engineers of KW&SB and experts of N.E.D University have been working under Dr Imran Ahmed to formulate an executable strategy. On their advice, KW&SB and NED University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to bring KW&SB laboratories up to the modern mark.
Managing Director KW&SB Misbahuddin Farid and Vice Chancellor NED University Abul Kalam signed the MoU in a Signing Ceremony at NED University. NED and KW&SB has vowed to provide the citizens of Karachi with clean drinking water as per WHO standards.
The agreement is regarding improvement of water quality from K-B Feeder to Keenjhar Lake and from there to KW&SB Water Reservoir.
KW&SB would establish laboratories and a weather station. KW&SB and Experts of NED would formulate strategies based on the data collected from the laboratory and the weather station. Causes of Contamination at Bulk Water Resources such as Kenjhar Lake and Hub Reservoir would also be identified and eliminated through this agreement.
On this occasion, MD KW&SB Misbah Farid said that Vice Chancellor of NED University Abul Kalam has an exceptional personality. He said that Engineer Abul Kalam has worked all his life to promote Engineering as an educational module and work for the betterment of NED University. Praising AbulKalam’s cooperation with KW&SB he said that with signing of MoU KW&SB would improve the water quality bringing it up to the WHO standards.
DMD Planning Mashkoor ul Hasnain, DMD Technical Services Iftikhar Ahmed Khan, Project Director S-III Ayub Shaikh, from KW&SB and Dean Faculty of Engineering & Architecture Professor Dr Sarosh Lodhi, Dean Faculty Electrical and Computers Engineering Professor Dr. Shoaib Zaidi, Chairman Civil Engineering Professor Dr Asadur Rehman Khan and others were also present on this occasion.
