KARACHI - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Candidates Forum Conveners have said that Qaim Ali Shah is misfit for chief minister slot. Addressing a joint press conference at the PTI Central Media Cell here on Thursday, PTI leaders, including Jawad Jillani, Naeem Sheikh, Ehsan Jabar, Sultan Ahmed, Akram Langha, Riaz Haider and Dawa Khan condemned the Sindh CM’s statement in which he said, “State of affairs in Karachi is not that bad.” They said that his statement reflects his ineligibility, lack of knowledge, weak memory due to over-aging and unsatisfactory fitness for the designation. They further stated that Imran Khan had always been asking for free and fair elections under Pakistan Army’s supervision but the demand was turned down which resulted in massive historic polls rigging. Since several constituencies have been pointed out for re-poll and people are afraid of the factors that were responsible of May 11 rigging, so PTI has yet again demands Army’s deployment both inside and outside the polling stations to ensure transparency.Talking about Karachi situation, PTI leaders said that Karachi gives approximately 70 percent of the revenue every year. But no one is sincere against the enduring issues of this City. The ongoing target killing, power outages, natural gas deficit, water crisis, health issues, unemployment and sewerage system are the issues seeking Sindh government’s attention, they added. Billions of rupees are spent on law-enforcement agencies every year but no one is there to investigate the causes of repetitive failures. Dozens of innocent lives are being lost on daily basis but Sindh government is showing their same ignorant behavior instead of making serious efforts to eradicate the dread. They demanded the Sindh government to make serious efforts for the peace of the City otherwise they will be surrounded by protestors. They further added that major reason for chaos in Karachi is the political influence in law-enforcement departments and demanded appointment of impartial police officers with accountability of billions spent on maintenance of peace in the City.PTI leaders condemned the unending target killing faced by innocent citizens, police officials, political leaders and elected MPAs. They demand investigation about the repeated failures of security agencies in wiping out the elements spreading terror in the City. They said that ban on pillion riding by Sindh government was another futile attempt against target killing. It did not stop target killing but affected the motorcyclists. About 1.8 million motorcycles were registered in Karachi and the ban has affected around 3.6 million people of the City. They also demanded lifting of ban to facilitate motorcyclists.
