Initial report sent to President Zardari

KARACHI - On the directives of President Asif Ali Zardari, PPP MNA Syeda Nafeesa Shah on Tuesday submitted the preliminary report of the honour killing of Taslima Solangi who was brutally killed in Pirgoth area near Hajna Shah in Khairpur district six months ago. Talking to The Nation, she strongly condemned the brutal incident and said that she had submitted her preliminary report to the President and would submit complete report after investigating the whole incident. Nafeesa, who also done PhD in honour killing, on Tuesday visited the victim's village along with her team and recorded the statements of village notables. Her team comprising International Human Rights Organisation representative, Iqbal Tahebo, members of human rights' organisations and social activist of Khairpur. She said that there was no report in the postmortem that she was thrown in front of dogs before killing. PPP central leader said that her team was recording statements of different notables and people to finalise the report and would suggest exemplary punishments who were involved in this heinous crime. "Police had only arrested one person and I along with my team investigating the whole incident because there is a lot of contradiction about her brutal execution," she added.   Former nazima said that she selected honest and well-reputed police and revenue officials and would make complete report on Taslima Solangi's barbarous murder and also gave her suggestion for saving lives of innocent girls who were executed on the behest of honour killing.
