Police and rangers nabbed 60 activists and sympathizers of Sunni Tehrik from various areas of Karachi for their alleged involvement in violent activities. According to reports, law enforcement agencies conducted raids in New Karachi, Shah Faisal Colony, Gulberg, Landhi and Malir, arresting dozens of people. Police said that arms were also recovered from some of the suspects Spokesman Sunni Tehrik talking to a private TV channel told that the police have arrested nabbed 60 activists and sympathizers of Sunni Tehrik from various areas of Karachi. He said the Sunni Tehrik cannot be oppressed through state force and demanded of the government that police action against Tehrik members is biased and should be stopped immediately. On the other hand police said that the arrested people were involved in violent activities, including setting shops and vehicles ablaze and the cases against these people had been registered in various police stations.
