Bisma slams unbeaten ton as Punjab thump Multan

KARACHI Opener Bisma Maroof hit 85 ball unbeaten 100 to steer Punjab to 49 runs win over Multan, for their fourth win in a row in the Womens National Under-19 Cricket here Saturday at South End Club DHA. This is the second hundred in the eleven team contest. Komal Feroz of Lahore, the opening partner of Bisma Maroof, scored the first ton when she made unbeaten 120 against Quetta. Lahore has already qualified for the final by topping the group on points table. Batting first, Punjab posted 167 for the loss of one wicket with Bisma Maroof producing 100 of those runs. Farwal Awan was the other unbeaten player at the crease. Multan after a poor start recovered partially but could not reach the winning target as were all out for 118. Sana Gulzar contributed the highest 49 to the total. Farah Naeem (3/38), Bakhatawar Iqbal (2/23) and Farval Awan (2/18) were the main wicket-takers for the Punjab. In another match, Islamabad beat Quetta by four wickets. Quetta scored 90 for seven and Islamabad responded with 91 for six. In the third match, Peshawar beat Faisalabad by 59 runs at the PCB Academy Ground. Peshawar made 135 for four and bowled the opponents for 76. On Friday, Multan beat Hyderabad by 193 runs. Multan posted 221 for five and Hyderabad managed only 28. Also on Friday, Abbottabad beat Sialkot by three wickets. Sialkot scored 137 for six and Abbottabad finished with 138 for seven.
