LAHORE -Forman Christian College organised the 6th International Teachers’ Conference with the theme of “From Teaching to Learning” here on Saturday.
The conference was coordinated by FCC Executive Vice-Rector and Dean Faculty of Education Dr CJ Dubash. In his address, Dr Dubash emphasised the need for teachers to connect to their students’ learning and produce successful knowledge workers and a successful learning environment. He also described the five dimensions of teaching and learning i.e. curriculum intent, feedback, assessment, sequencing and making judgements. FCC Rector Dr Peter H Armacost spoke on the impact that teachers have on the lives of their students. He said: “Teachers affect the lives of many people by making the subject matter clear, by being role models and by caring for the students. This impact can be experienced in the years to come.”
During the conference, 21 sessions were conducted on a range of topics related to the main theme and presented by Pakistani and foreign faculty members of FCC. Over 165 participants came from a large number of educational institutions in Lahore, Pattoki, Muridke, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Bahawalpur and Swat.
