No private land to be acquired for schemes


LAHORE – The Punjab government has made amendments in “The Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Sub Division Rules 2010” through a gazette notification according to which no private developer will be allowed to acquire private land, falling in his proposed housing scheme, on government rate.
According to a handout issued by government on Thursday, private developer of a housing scheme will have to submit a certified title documents including a registry, Intiqal, Fard, Khasra Plan or Aks-e-Shajra certified by a Tehsil Dar (Revenue), Non encumbrance certificate from the Revenue Authority, Location Plan signed by a Town Planner, Topographic Survey extended to the depth of 1000 feet around the scheme area,  Layout Plan, super imposed on a Khasra Plan with proposed division of scheme into residential and commercial plots, road network, open spaces, graveyard and public buildings, prepared and signed by a Town Planner.  The concerned Town Municipal Administration, Tehsil Municipal Administration or a Development Authority shall entertain an application from a private developer along with these documents while granting him approval of the scheme.
Prior to the amendment in “The Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Sub Division Rules 2010”, a private developer was allowed to acquire land for his proposed housing scheme not exceeding 10 per cent of the total area owned by him, on government rates but now this clause of the rules has been omitted and private developer will not be able to acquire private land falling in their housing scheme on government rates.
