DCO inspects arrangements for Raiwind Tablighi Ijtima


LAHORE – District Coordination Officer (DCO) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal on Thursday visited Raiwind to inspect arrangements for the annual Tablighi Ijtima starting from November 9.
The DCO meet with the Ijtima Committee and assured it that the City District Government Lahore would complete all arrangements before the start of the Tablighi Ijtima, the second largest gathering of Muslims after Haj. He also visited different areas of the Ijtima jurisdiction along with committee members and assured them that the event would be made successful at all costs.
On this occasion, the DCO directed EDO (Health) Dr Inam-ul-Haq to set up a dispensary near the Ijtima jurisdiction and deploy health staff there. He also directed the Raiwind Town Municipal Administration (TMA) to sprinkle water in the Ijtima jurisdiction and conduct a survey of damaged roads in Raiwind with a view to getting them repaired at the earliest.
Mengal further directed the Iqbal Town TMA to display directional boards at prominent places, so that the visitors could reach the Ijtima without facing any problem. He also directed rescue and health officials to depute officials with ambulances outside the Ijtima. The DCO said that CCTV cameras would be installed at different places to improve the security.
The DCO stated that wardens would be appointed for smooth flow of traffic and strict checking would be conducted on the entry points to Raiwind City. He said that no negligence would be tolerated on the part of any official and strict action would be taken on showing negligence.
Mengal directed officials to work on the occasion of Raiwind Ijtima with the passion of religious service. “Section 144 would be imposed on the entrance of public transport in Raiwind City to avoid any untoward incident and strict action would be initiated on violation,” he added.
During meeting with the Lahore DCO, organisers of the Tablighi Ijtima showed their satisfaction over the security and cleanliness arrangements in Raiwind, and thanked him for matchless cooperation to make the event successful.
Meanwhile, the DCO also visited Raiwind Model Bazaar to inspect construction work there. He showed his dissatisfaction over the slow pace of construction work. He directed Raiwind Assistant Commissioner Nadia Saqib to get the remaining construction work of the Raiwind Bazaar completed until November 15. He also directed her to look after the affairs of Model Bazaar.
