Cloudy weather forecast for City

LAHORE - Overcast conditions and continuously blowing breeze caused decrease in the mercury level in the City, providing some respite to the Lahorites from the hot weather persisting during the last week. The plains of Punjab including the City were in the grip of unusual hot weather due to the persistent dry weather and lack of winds. Both maximum and minimum temperature was 4-6 degree Celsius above normal level that caused unusually hot weather in March over the plains of Punjab. However, the temperature drops considerably due to the influence of westerly wave that now grips upper parts of the country. On Friday, maximum and minimum temperature in the City was recorded 34 C and 19 C respectively. Relative humidity in the morning was recorded 39 per cent, which decreased to 24 per cent in the evening. Local meteorological department has forecast cloudy weather with chances of scattered light rain for the City during the next 24 hours. Met office has forecast rains at isolated places of NWFP, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir and some parts of Punjab including Lahore, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi divisions during the next 24 hours. On Friday, Parachinar received 05 mm rain, Kakul and Murree 04mm each, Rawalakot 03mm, Dir and Islamabad 02mm each, Balakot, Cherat and Muzaffarabad 01mm each while Bahawalpur, Kotli and Multan received traces of rain.
