Rs5b released for more prisons

LAHORE  - The Punjab government has released Rs5 billion for the construction of seven prisons, sources said Saturday.
The Punjab government has allocated Rs5 billion under Annual Development Program (ADP) to build prisons in Mianwali, Layya, Rajanpur, Narowal, Hafizabad, Lodhran and Khanewal. These jails are scheduled to be completed in June 2015.
A senior jail official said on anonymity that 50000 prisoners were being kept in 32 jails of the province.  He said after construction of seven new jails prisoners would be divided and definitely problems of prisoners and jails staff would be reduced.
Corrupt cop suspended:
The CIA SP suspended a sub inspector for taking bribe and initiated inquiry, said a spokesman for police. He said SP Umar Virk suspended SI Mushtaq Gujar and assigned inquiry to CIA DSP Riaz Shah. Shah will submit report within 72 hours.
