LAHORE - Road Safety Institutes of the National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) are playing a vital role in producing skilled drivers with enhance road safety sense by training the new and leaner drivers.
DIG (N-5 Central) Mirza Shakeel Ahmad stated this while talking to officers during his visit to Road Safety Institute (NH&MP Driver Training School) on Wednesday. Sector Commander SSP Mirza Faran Baig was also present on the occasion.
DIG Mirza Shakeel Ahmad also said that there is a dire need to establish Road Safety Institutes all over Pakistan. These institutes are necessary for producing drivers with better sense of traffic rules and bringing discipline on the roads, he added. During his visit, the DIG also listened to the problems being faced by field officers on this occasion and assured them that their genuine grievances would be redressed.
Earlier, the DIG ordered the beat commanders to seriously check the traffic violations including overloading, lane violation, and driving without safety helmet.
Jawad Qamar appointed
Punjab Inspector General of Police Khan Baig on Wednesday ordered the transfers and postings of three police officers.
According to a notification, Capt. (Retd) Jawad Qamar has been posted as Lahore SSP (Operations) while Zulfiqar Ali, DSP (Telecommunication Branch) on promotion to BS-18, on regular basis in his cadre, was transferred and posted as additional-SP Telecommunications Punjab. Mrs. Nasim Chaudhry Gujranawala SP (PHP) was closed to Central Police Office Punjab.
