Pakistan U-19 team trials conclude

LAHORE - The three-day final phase of trials to select Pakistan U-19 team for Zimbabwe tour were held here Tuesday at Diamond Ground Islamabad. Fifty-two (52) young lads, selected from the trials held at three centers Multan, Lahore and Islamabad, appeared on first day of these series of trials. On the opening day, age verification of all the players, in accordance with the ICC protocol, was conducted by Dr. Riaz Ahmed, Resident Sports Physician National Cricket Academy (PCB). In all, 37 players cleared the medical scrutiny for age verification. On Wednesday (September 3), trial matches will be held on the central track of the Diamond ground. The National Selection Committee headed by Iqbal Qasim and comprising of Mohammad Ilyas, Ijaz Ahmed, Salim Jaffar, Azhar Khan and Farrukah Zaman witnessed these trials. Pakistan U-19 team will tour Zimbabwe from September 29.
