LAHORE – Accusing the PML-N leadership of political victimisation, Deputy Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Shaukat Mehmood Basra said on Sunday that he was ready to pay any price for raising voice for the rights of the people of Southern Punjab.
“Party founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto sacrificed their lives for the rights of the people and we are also ready to sacrifice our lives in the same way,” he said in a press statement.
Basra alleged that the Sharif brothers behaved like Mughal emperors and did not tolerant criticism. “The Sharifs are in the habit of implicating their political opponents in fake cases by using the police. Such tactics are not new to PPP leaders because they had been facing the same in the past as well,” he observed. Basra said he would expose the Sharif brothers before the media at the Punjab Assembly on Monday (today).
