Function held to create mental health awareness

LAHORE - MIND, is a non-profit charity organization working for the improvement of mental health since 1991, Saturday held a function to create awareness about the mental health for the sake of creating a progressive, developing and healthy society. The speakers also invited attention of the philanthropic and affluent people towards helping the destitute and poor segments of society, which are suffering from mentally related problems and diseases. They also highlighted tension, depression and other factors, which contribute to the mental and psycho diseases particularly in the poor segment of society. MIND was established to uplift the conditions of individuals suffering from psychiatric illnesses with special emphasis on those living in rural and far-flung areas. This organization also works to enhance awareness of mental health issues among the general public. The organization consists of volunteers from the field of mental health and related sciences and also from other fields of life. The function held with an objective to raise funds, was followed by the presentation by Dr Hasnain Ali, member of MIND. He showed what this Organization had achieved so far in the betterment of Mental Health in Pakistan. There was a musical evening in which new and old singers performed. At the end Professor Dr Saad B Malik expressed the vote of thanks to all the supporters and donors of MIND Organization. Dinner Lahore College Associates are holding an annual general body meeting and dinner on April 7 at LCWU Auditorium. The dinner will be followed by a concert. Exhibition of jewellery, pottery, garments and other handicrafts will also be displayed. Old students of LCWU have been informed to collect their invitation cards from the department.
