WorldCall Telecom title sponsors for Pak-England T20 rubber

LAHORE - WorldCall Telecom Limited has stepped up as title sponsors for reigning world champion Pakistan's bilateral Twenty20 rubber against England on February 19 and 20 at Dubai's new cricket ground. The two match series was planned by the PCB and ECB as preparation for the forthcoming ICC Twenty20 World Cup in the Caribbean coming April. WorldCall is owned by one of the leading telecom companies in the region, the Oman Telecom Company. The company's CEO Babar Ali Syed said that this was their first venture into sponsoring cricket. "We are hopeful and keen to execute it in a very professional and befitting manner," he added. The event is being held in collaboration with Dubai-based Chapal Sports, who had bought the rights for the two-match series from the Dubai Sports City a couple of weeks back. Dr Ahsan Hameed Malik, chief operating officer of Chapal Sports, said on the occasion that his company had locked the deal with WorldCall Telecom Limited and negotiations are at an advanced stage with the presenting company and other sponsors. "The deals are likely to be finalised very soon," said Dr Malik.
