LAHORE The Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry has said that despite hardships, country was on the way to betterment. Talking to delegations of two bar associations here Thursday, the CJ said that Pakistan was on the way to betterment and improvement notwithstanding adversities. He said Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary was a good example to be followed by the subordinate judiciary. The CJP, he added, has also boosted confidence level of the people in judiciary. He said people were looking at the judiciary at the moment therefore a close cooperation between the Bench and the Bar to deliver on the public expectations was a must so that their problems could be addressed. Pakistan do not have scarcity in talents but the question was that how to use it. In subordinate judiciary, as many as 223 civil judges had been inducted purely on merit and out of them, 67 are women judges who were all satisfactorily performing their duties. The delegations included Gujranwala Bar Association Secretary Shaheed Aslam Jhora, Ch Furrukh Mahmood Sulehria, and Gujranwala Tax Bar Association president Saqib Sheikh.
