Staff Reporter add from Karachi: Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Pakistan on Friday staged countrywide protests against targeted killings of scholars, dignitaries and commoners in the country.
Allama Mukhtar Imami, secretary general of MWM Sindh Chapter, condemned the suicide attacks on pilgrims in Quetta.
He told The Nation that the democratic government is still busy establishing relations with the Taliban and other so-called Jihadis, who have already killed more than 50,000 innocent Pakistanis during the last one or two decades.
“The government has failed to provide security to the citizens and dignitaries. It is not interested in arresting the so-called Jihadis who are playing with the lives of the people. The US and Saudi governments are backing such militants to gain their vested interests in Pakistan,” he added.
Schools, colleges, hospitals and mosques are being attacked by the Taliban and their allies to keep the people of Pakistan ignorant and spiritually hollow, he said.
“US-sponsored banned outfits are carrying out fatal bomb blasts in the country which is the failure of the present government that has lenient policy for such organisations. The government has encouraged the terrorists by holding talks with them.”
On other hand, MWM Karachi Division staged a protest outside the Jamia Masjid Kharadar after Friday prayer.
