LAHORE - Lahore DCO Naseem Sadiq has said the CDGL is going to launch a crackdown on beggars so that the curse can be eradicated from provincial capital and in this regard the district administration will use all available resources.
Presiding over a meeting, he said suggestions for this purpose have been sought from different departments. He said an awareness campaign would also be launched in the city to get rid of this curse and beggars would be refrained from such practice and would be convinced to quit begging. He said teams would be constituted at town level for curbing the mafia behind these professional beggars.
“Action would be initiated against professional beggars and they would be treated under law”, he added. He appealed to the citizens to play their role in this regard and convince them to quit such curses and also avoid giving them money so that begging could be discouraged.
