Justice Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhry of Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered for reopening immediately the emergency ward of Jinnah Hospital Lahore. Justice Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhry issued these directives during the course of hearing of case on violence against journalist here Monday. He remarked incompetent doctors should immediately be transferred from emergency ward. No one will be allowed to curb freedom of press", he further remarked. If emergency ward of the hospital is closed down then the affluent people will shift to any where else but where the poor people will go, he asked. Doctors and media were two vital segments of society, therefore, they should discharge their obligation with responsibility, he observed. He directed the Assistant Advocate General (AAG) to ensure immediate reopening of emergency ward. The court while adjourning the hearing of the case till April, 12 has sought reply from the police.
