LAHORE – After the shifting of slaughter house to Shahpur Kanjaran, illegal workshops and business of waste of animals have been initiated at the empty plots of residential area of Sabzazar D-Block in connivance with the extortionists and land grabbers which caused difficulties for area dwellers. In order to discuss the issue, a meeting of Sabzazar Welfare Society at the residence of Mian Mohammad Riaz was held on Monday.
The meeting was chaired by the society’s president Saeed Aasi. The meeting demanded of the Punjab CM and LDA DG to evacuate the land and construct a shopping mall to facilitate the dwellers.
On the occasion, president of the society and others office bearers including Mohammad Afzal Khan, Ch Manzoor Ahmed, Mohammad Arshad, Ch Rasheed and Arshad Mehmood Butt expressed their regret that MNA Marghoob Ahmed and MPA Mehar Ishtiaq Ahmed did not fulfil their promise the solve the matter. The meeting also demanded that the D-Block Park should be converted into Women Park. The participants demanded that the sewerage system should be de-linked with others adjacent areas and the police should be activated against the criminal elements of the area. They also demanded of include all areas of Sabzazar in one union council.
