pml-N stands by Kashmiris


LAHORE – The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leadership has renewed pledge to support the Kashmiris in their struggle for right to self-determination. In his message on Kashmir Solidarity Day, the PML-N chief said Kashmiris will not be left alone in their fight for freedom. He said his party has been raising voice for the rights of Kashmiris at every platform. He also called for implementation of UN resolution on the issue. Paying glowing tribute to the struggle of Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that he people of Pakistan always raised their voices against state-sponsored torture and oppression on the people in held Kashmir where trampling of human rights by the Indian troops has become the order of the day. The PML-N, he said, had always highlighted the Kashmir cause at every national and international forum during its government, and the stand taken by this party throughout was quite clear that Kashmir issue must be resolved according to the aspirations of Kashmiri people.  The CM said that the forcible occupation of Kashmir and depriving of their right to self-determination was highly condemnable. He said it was in the interest of Pakistan and India to resolve Kashmir issue through negotiations, and unless Kashmir issue was settled in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people, other disputes between the countries would remain unresolved. 
The CM said that the PML-N President Nawaz Sharif during his tenure held purposeful negotiations with his Indian counterpart on Kashmir issue and a strong hope arose solution of the problem but unfortunately, the democratic government was overthrown by dictatorship.  The CM expressed determination that if Almighty gave another opportunity, the PML-N would again endeavor to resolve Kashmir issue. He said his party would take effective and result-oriented steps to ensure right of self-determination of the people of Kashmir. He said that the whole Pakistani nation stands shoulder to shoulder with the Kashmiri brethren on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day.
