Armed Forces fighting for country’s survival: Shahbaz

LAHORE  - Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the brave Armed Forces of Pakistan are fighting for the survival of the country.
He said that lakhs of Pakhtun brethren and sisters have been forced to leave their homes due to the war against terrorism and are waiting for help.
He was talking a delegation of Assembly Members and the PML-N office-bearers here on Friday.
He said that Punjab government has set up Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the financial assistance of displaced Pakhtun people and a sum of Rs 50 crore has already been deposited by the provincial government in the relief fund.
He said that all segments of the society should come forward for the relief and assistance of displaced Pakhtun people and extend them maximum help.
The Chief Minister said that Punjab government has sent relief items worth crores of rupees for the relief of displaced Pakhtun people.
He said that Punjab Cabinet and Assembly Members belonging to PML-N have also donated their one month’s salary to Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
He said that help and assistance to the Pakhtun brethren and sisters who have been forced to leave their homes in the war to purge the country of the menace of terrorism is a collective religious and national obligation of the society.
He expressed the hope that philanthropists, affluent people as well as general public will spare no effort for the help and assistance of the displaced Pakhtun people and assured that every penny of donations will be spent in a transparent manner.
MASHOOD CALLS FOR UNITY TO FIGHT TERRORISM
Provincial Law Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that there is a need for unity against terrorism.
He said that nation wants that country should be put on the road to progress and prosperity but jugglers do not want its development.  He said that the country is passing through a critical juncture but these jugglers are creating uncertainty in the country. Rana Mashhood stressed upon all political forces to be united on one platform for fighting against terrorism.
He said that the dream of defeated and disappointed elements of coming into power through backdoor will not materialise and they will never succeed in their designs.
