LAHORE - Highlighting the importance of Hijab, Nazaria Pakistan Trust (NPT) Chairman Majid Nizami has said that ‘Chadar Orh Tehreek’ is need of the hour.
He was addressing a conference to mark World Hijab Day on Wednesday. Justice (r) Mian Mehboob and Pir Syed Mubarik Ali Shah were the chief guest while Pir Syed Kabir Ali Shah, the founder of the Chadar Orh Tehreek, presided over the session. Liaqat Baloch, Qayyum Nizami, Dr Fouzia Siddiqui, Dr Samiha Raheel Qazi, Bushra Rehman, Ajmal Niazi, NPT Secretary Shahid Rasheed, Dr Umrana Mushtaq, MPA Nabeera Andleeb Naeemi and others were the speakers. A good number of people participated in the conference.
Syed Kabir Ali asked the Muslim women to wear Hijab to present their Islamic image in the other societies.
The other speakers talked about the significance of Hijab in Islam and urged upon the women to follow the teachings of Islam to glorify their lives. They paid tribute to Majid Nizami and termed him the great journalist of the age. They said Pir Kabir Ali had distributed thousands of chadars among the women and his mission would continue until every woman starts wearing Hijab.
The speakers also demanded of the government to make all out efforts for the early release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui from the US prison. They said that Hijab was not a hurdle in progress rather it provides protection to the women during their routine life.
