LAHORE – The Inspector General of Police has assured foolproof security and protection to the business community by saying the traders would be provided all type of security so that they can continue their business activities without any fear.
He expressed these views while meeting with a delegation comprising 32 members of Qaumi Tajar Ittehad, Punjab at Central Police Office, on Thursday.
Addl IG, Punjab, Malik Khuda Bakhsh Awan, DIG (Operations), Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar, President Qaumi Tajar Ittehad, Punjab, Babar Butt, Javaid Iqbal Butt, Rana Ikhlaq, Naveed Akber Butt, Haji Muhammad Haroon, Khalid Malik, Khaid Mehmood and Sohail Mehmood Butt were present in the meeting.
The IGP assured the business community that the court decision regarding ban on rallies and processions on The Mall would be strictly implemented so that businessmen could perform their activities without any interference.
He also directed the DIG Operation to increase police patrolling in all business areas of the Punjab Capital during the loadshedding hours.
During the meeting, the IGP suspended Factory Area SHO Attique Dogar for his non-cooperation with the business community. The provincial police chief instructed Ghulam Mehmood Dogar to hold regular meeting on monthly basis with the business community so that their grievances would be redressed. He also directed him to ensure the participation of all SPs of Lahore including CTO for this meeting. On the request of visiting delegation, IGP accepted their demand to hold open courts in business areas of Lahore.
TRANSFERRED, POSTED: The IGP has transferred Dr Akhtar Abbas, SSP, Punjab Highway Patrol, Rawalpindi and posted as SSP (Operations), Rawalpindi. Likewise, Mr Yaseen Farooq, SSP, Operations, Rawalpindi has been closed to Police Headquarters, Punjab.
