LAHORE: National Highways and Motorway Police has organised a road safety seminar in Sahiwal to create awareness on road/traffic discipline among masses on Thursday.
A large number of people from civil society, RPO Sahiwal Shaibzada Shezada Sultan and DPO Khurram Ali Shah participated in the seminar.
Addressing the seminar, Sector Commander/ SSP NH&MP Mirza Faran Biag said effective planning and implementation of traffic rules could help curtailing fatal road traffic accidents, which were claiming the precious human lives to the volume of 1.3 million across the world and 12,000 in Pakistan annually.
Students from different schools displayed different road safety slogans on boards and showed to the public.
Sahibzada Shezada Sultan said young people especially student should be the prime focus in the road safety. He further said student should use safety helmet while using motorcycle. He also appreciated the efforts of NH&MP in road safety. SSP motorway police and officers of NH&MP awarded cash prizes and gifts among students on traffic rules questions. The safety helmets have also been distributed among the participants though draw in the seminar.–pr
