LAHORE: A 30-year-old man committed suicide by hanging himself with the ceiling fan at his house in Green Town, police said on Saturday.
Police investigators say they believe the deceased, identified as Muhammad Waseem, committed suicide because of poverty. However, father of the deceased alleged that Waseem was murdered by his wife and her brother over some domestic dispute. Police have moved the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating.
Investigators said that the body was hanging from the ceiling fan with a rope tied to his neck as they reached the spot. The wife of the deceased told the police that Waseem had been suffering from financial constraints for the last couple of months. The man got disillusioned and committed suicide by hanging himself with the ceiling in the bedroom.–Staff Reporter
