LAHORE - Punjab University Hajveri Chair in collaboration with teaching and research departments of Oriental College organised a one-day conference on “Kashful-Mahjoob, Critical Analyses of Printing and Translations” at Sherani Hall, Old Campus on Monday.
PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran, Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning Prof Dr Hafiz Mahmood Akhtar, Prof Dr Zahoor Ahmed Azhar, Principal Oriental College Mazhar Moeen, Justice (R) Munir Ahmed Mughal, research scholars and a large number of students participated on the occasion. Addressing the gathering, PU VC stated that there was a need of rectification and improvement in the translations of Kashful Mahjoob and we were responsible for inaccuracies. He said this conference would not only help scholars to share ideas with each other but also realize students that there was a lot of space and areas to work on. He advised the students to master their subjects, language and history and increase their knowledge by enhancing reading habits.
Prof Dr Zahoor Ahmed said Kashful Mahjoob was a great and first book on Tasawuf in Persian. He said that unfortunately, all the editions of the book have much mistakes but now a Russian and an Iranian scholar, named Dr Mahmood Abidi, had worked hard for its accurate edition. He said that it would be a matter of pride for Punjab University if it published the best edition of the book which would be used for citation. Prof Abdul Jabbar, Prof Muhammad Illyas Azmi, Dr Humayyun Abbas, Dr Ismatullah, Dr Ghulam Moeen uddin Nizami, Dr Tahseen Faraqi and Dr Fakhrul Haq Noori also spoke on the occasion.
PU extends admission date: Punjab University Examinations Department has issued the revised schedule of admission fee & forms for MA/MSc, Part-I Annual Exam 2012. According to details, the dates of submission of admission forms & fee for MA/MSc Part-I Annual Examination 2012 for Private candidates is revised as: with single fee March 16 and with double fee March 26.  MA/MSc, Part-I exam will commence from July 20 while Part-II exam will commence from June 14.
PU declares results: Punjab University Examinations Department has declared the result BA/BSc Special Annual Exam 2011 held in Riyadh KSA and BA/BSc Special Supplementary Exam 2010 held in Riyadh KSA. Detailed results are also available at PU website www.pu.edu.pk.
