LAHORE – Hundreds of rickshaw owners took out a rally on Canal Road, from Thoker Niaz Beg to Jail Road, against the Lahore Transport Company and traffic police.
Led by Awami Rickshaw Unions, the drivers of three wheelers chanted slogans against the company and police, saying they were crushed by the heavy challans by the both.
“We have no rickshaw stands in the City. LPG and CNG prices go up on every day besides this we were fined by the LTC and traffic police,” said a rickshaw owner Muhammad Aslam.
Their union leaders warned the provincial government to address their issues otherwise they would block the City roads.
“We are not allowed to run rickshaws where the LTC buses run. We don’t know where to earn livelihood for our families,” they complained.
