They need to be nursed

LAHORE - The Young Nurses Association staged a sit-in outside the Lahore Press Club on Wednesday to press for the demand of renewal of contract of adhoc nurses.
The nurses, however, called off protest and dispersed peacefully after successful negotiations with the government.
Dozens of nurses gathered outside the LPC and staged a sit-in that continued for over six hours, causing traffic jam in the city. Carrying placards and banners inscribed with writings in favour of their demands, nurses chanted slogans against the government.
Parliamentary Secretary Health Kh Imran Nazir, Director General Health Dr Zahid Pervaiz and DG Nursing reached the venue to convince nurses to call off protest.
Kh Imran Nazir assured nurses that they would not be deprived of their jobs. He said that Advisor to Chief Minister on Health and secretary Health were not in Lahore and the matter would be brought to their notice on coming Saturday.  He said that the government would provide job security to adhoc nurses. The nurses called off protest after getting assurance from the parliamentary secretary.
