932 women get driving licences

LAHORE Capital City Traffic Police have issued 932 driving licences to the women during the first four months of current year. Chief Traffic Officer Syed Ahmed Mubeen said here on Thursday that 87 women also failed to get the driving licenses during the tests of road signs identification and driving practice. The CTO said that traffic police made the procedure of getting driving license more easy for public and they also were being educated on traffic laws. He directed the DSP Licensing Ali Iftikhar Jafferi to arrange lectures to create awareness among the public about road signs, road marking and other traffic laws. Ali Iftikhar said that women could apply for driving tests on Friday while the males could come on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The drivers of Commercial vehicles should come to the Traffic Police Lines on Monday and Wednesday, DSP added.
