Intelligence officer’s car stolen


LAHORE – Police put on alert across the provincial metropolis after unidentified auto-lifters took away the car of an intelligence officer from Defense Housing Authority (DHA) Area, police sources said on Saturday.
According to a police source, a high-raking officer of a sensitive agency parked his private car (LXR-3874) in the parking lot of a commercial centre located in Y-Block of Defence and visited a shopping mall. As he came back after sometime, he found his car was stolen. Several policemen including senior officers reached the spot as the officer contacted the emergency police (Rescue-15).
The police sealed off several points in the City and launched hunt to recover the car but to no avail. The police have registered a case against unknown car-lifters and efforts were underway to trace the vehicle till filing of this report.
Meanwhile, unidentified gunmen attacked the residence of a PPP MPA and assaulted his security guard here in Shadman area and fled away, police sources said on Saturday.
According to police, gunmen riding on motorcycles tried to force their entry into the house of member Punjab Assembly, Shahan Malik, hailing from Attock, late on Friday night.
