LAHORE- A Mehfil-i-Qir’at was held on Friday for the elevation and peace of the soul of late Dr Majid Nizami.
In a ceremony held at the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan with the cooperation of Saut-ul-Quran International, the participants prayed for the Pakistan Movement Veteran, eminent journalist and former Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust (NPT) chairman.
Those who recited Qir’at included Qari Syed Sadaquat Ali, Hafiz Muhammad Umar Ashraf, Qari Muhammad Zafar Siyalvi, Qari Khalid Usman Alvi Al-Azhari, Hafiz Amjad Ali, Hafiz Usman Ahmad and Hafiz Ma’az Ikram Janbaz.
The NPT secretary thanked the participants and office bearers of the Trust, announcing that such Mahafil (gatherings) would continue to be held in future.
DEFENCE DAY: A special ceremony on the eve of the Pakistan Defence Day is going to take place at 10:30 am today at the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan under the aegis of the NPT with the eminent Pakistan Movement veteran, former president and NPT Chairman Rafique Tarar in the chair. The speakers include Prof Dr Rafique Ahmad, Col (r) Ikram Ullah, Maj Gen (r) Muhammad Javaid, Brig (r) Javaid Iqbal and MPA Rana Tajammal Hussain.
