LAHORE - PTI will launch its third round against the alleged rigging of 2013 general elections today (Saturday) from Sialkot, a hub of sport goods manufacturing across the world.
PTI held first protest demonstration against the alleged poll rigging on May 11 at D-Chowk, Islamabad, and second one at Dhobi Ghaat Ground, Faisalabad. Both the shows were addressed by the party chairman, Imran Khan.
Imran Khan will address the protest demonstration at Jinnah Stadium, Sialkot, and also announce the next city of the province to stage yet another show against the poll rigging.
PTI Punjab President Ijaz Chaudhary told this reporter on Friday that next protest demonstration against the poll rigging would be held in Bahawalpur. He added the party chairman would announce the date for the Bahawalpur show during Sialkot show.
When asked about bringing their campaign to the provincial capital, he said they would soon come to the so-called bastion of the ruling party, but a plan in this connection had not so far been made.
Meanwhile, the PTI Punjab leadership has completed all arrangements for the protest demonstration in Sialkot against the alleged poll rigging.
According to sources, the party leaders and workers from across the province would attend the Sialkot show. But, keeping in view the hot weather, major participation in the show is expected from Central Punjab.
The PTI Punjab president along with other provincial leaders would lead a caravan to Sialkot. In addition, senior party leaders, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Javed Hashmi, Jahangir Tareen, Shafqat Mehmood and others, would be present on this occasion, most probably with supporters of their respective constituencies.
On this occasion, PTI leader and singer, Ibrar-ul-Haq, would sing songs he has composed for the party’s anti-rigging campaign.
Holding a successful show in the current hot weather will be a real test case for the PTI, while tsunami followers will really strike the ruling party if they succeed in making the show a success in Sialkot which is considered to a stronghold of the ruling party in Central Punjab and the city of Energy and Defence Minister Kh Asif.
