Mother of five clubbed to death over domestic dispute

LAHORE A mother of five was brutally clubbed to death by her husband over domestic dispute here in Shalimar Area, police said on Friday. Police sources said that Muhammad Arif, a rickshaw driver by profession, clubbed his wife Rukhsana Bibi, 36, to death inside their rented house situated in Aalia Town of Farooq Park on early Friday. The man got infuriated and hit his wife in the head with a big wooden club, shortly after the scuffle took place between the couple over some domestic issue. Police investigators said that the woman was laying dead in a pool of blood with sever head injuries as they rushed to the spot. The local residents called in the police after the children made hue and cry. Local residents told the police that the couple used to exchange harsh words over domestic issues as the husband was said to a drug addict. On Friday, Arif reportedly hit his wife with a wooden club on her head. The furious man later hit and smashed her head with bricks as she collapsed. The killer managed to escape from the crime scene. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made so far. Stabbed to death: In another incident, two unidentified men stabbed a 25-year-old youth to death here in Kahna area on Friday. The killers managed to escape from the crime scene within no time. Local residents told the police that the youth later identified as Shahbaz Masih, resident of Sharif Park, was waiting for his friend near Watan restaurant at Ferozepur Road when two men, yet to be identified so far, appeared there. They stabbed him severely and fled away from the crime scene, police said, adding, the injured was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he expired later due to excessive bleeding. The police have registered the murder case on the complaint of Waris Masih, father of the deceased. The police have removed the body to the morgue for autopsy and are investigating with no arrest made so far. Meanwhile, a 12-year-old boy was killed by a rashly driven vehicle here in Hanjarwal area on Friday, police and rescue workers said. The deceased later identified as Imran Akhtar, a resident of Moza Niaz Baig, was crossing Multan Road near Hanjarwal when a rashly driven vehicle ran over him, resulting in his on-the-spot death. The driver along with the driven managed to escape from the crime scene. The police reached the spot and handed over the body to the deceased family. Further investigations are underway.
