CJP, COAS statements pose no threat to democracy

LAHORE – Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan on Tuesday said there was no threat to the democratic system either from the statement of the chief justice or that of the Army chief.
Rana has also ruled out any adventurism from either side and said, both are correct in their own way and asked for not making speculations from the statements of the two.
Talking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly, he subscribed to the statement of CJP and the Army chief and spelled out that in the world today more than missiles and bombs the economic wellbeing matters which is linked with trade and economic policies of a government. The army chief is also right that no individual has right to determine interest of the country. However, nothing lies in the statement of both that could pose any threat to the system any way, he added. He said that the two never mentioned any name in their respective statement thus speculations must be avoided.
