LAHORE: A widow of an alleged bandit, who was killed during police encounter a few days ago, and her teenage daughter were shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists in the Shahdara Town area late Thursday night.
Police said on Friday they were investigating to ascertain the motives behind the brutal killings. The police handed over the bodies to the family after the autopsy.
Fozia Bibi, 40, and her daughter Mehwish, 18, were coming back af ter visiting the shrine of Baba Shah Changay late Thursday night when three motorcyclists, yet to be identified, opened straight fire on them. The widow and her young daughter sustained multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot. The killers fled away from the crime scene on their two-wheelers. Police identified Fozia as wife and Mehwish as daughter of an alleged robber, Haider Shah, who was killed during an armed encounter with the CIA Ghaziabad police a couple of days ago. The police are investigating with no arrest made yet.–Staff Reporter
