LAHORE - Pakistan were fined for a slow over rate in the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle. International Cricket Council match referee Alan Hurst found Pakistan to be one over short of the target at the end of the Sri Lankan innings when time allowances were taken into consideration. Each Pakistan player was fined 5 per cent of his match fee, while captain Younus Khan was fined 10 per cent in accordance with ICC regulations. Pakistan, who needed only 97 runs to overhaul Sri Lanka's target of 168 at the start of the fourth day, were bowled out for 117 just before the lunch interval.
