LAHORE - The PML-N government has decided to reach out to other parties to muster their support against the elements which the party believes are out to derail the system to hamper progress and national development.
Sources said the meeting of the PML-N team with JI Amir Sirajul Haq and others of this important religio-political party on Saturday was a part of this process. They said the government wanted consensus of these parties on the matters related to the national progress, welfare of the common man and stability as well as wellbeing of the country.
The sources asserted the PML-N government, soon after coming to power, mentioned the difficult situation the country was facing on economic and security side and invited everyone to share the government efforts to solve problems. The government wanted to counter terrorism through joint efforts to overcome the energy crisis by launching mega projects. “The PML-N government also wants to meet the challenges of price hike, unemployment and others with combined efforts,” the sources claimed. “However, the government is alarmed by the recent moves by the rival forces that are going to launch movement against the system for which the current month is being deemed very important,” they held.
They said the government had set up a team, comprising Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal and Khwaja Saad, to meet the leaders of various political parties and individuals to take them on board on its public welfare programmes and seek their help in countering the anti-government and anti-system forces.
