PPP blamed for unrest in country

LAHORE - PML-N Central Finance Secretary and former parliamentarian Muhammad Pervez Malik has said that President Asif Ali Zardari is responsible for unrest and uncertainty in the country. According to a press release, speaking at a meeting here on Saturday, he said, "Had Mr Zardari fulfilled promises made with the PML-N and implemented Charter of Democracy, threats of military intervention would not have been created". He said, "God forbid, if democracy is harmed, President Zardari would be held accountable for it". He asserted that Zardari is not serious for reconciliation adding "He should stop mockery with the nation and political leadership in the name of talks". He said if president Zardari want to ensure peace, political stability and justice in the country, he would have to restore deposed judges and empower elected parliament. Pervez Malik said PML-N want reconciliation but cannot compromise on the issue of independence of judiciary and restoration of judges at any cost. He maintained that Charter of Democracy is the foundation on the basis of which reconciliation between PPP and PML-N can be achieved. He said President House is involved in disqualification of Sharif brothers adding statements by PPP leaders denying President's role in this regard are nothing but pack of lies. He said after hatching conspiracy to push national leadership to the wall, PPP is now talking of reconciliation, which is a farce. He said there is no forward block of PML-N in the Punjab Assembly as betrayal by a woman MPA cannot affect party's majority in the house. PPP urged to restore judiciary PML-N Central Secretary General International Affairs Sheikh Kaiser Mehmood has urged the President Asif Ali Zardari to restore sacked judiciary immediately, otherwise the ocean of masses will overwhelm all the fake judges during the long march. According to a press release, while addressing to party workers here on Saturday, he said Asif Ali Zardari violated all his promises and has lied on every occasion; and to contain him the masses from Khyber to Karachi will participate in the Long march. He also reiterated on the occasion, "I swear, that Sharif brothers will not deviate from any sacrifice to facilitate the poor masses with justice and will not flinch even to sacrifice my life and chief ministry for the cause of justice and judiciary". He also clarified that PML-N will not compromise on its principled stance and aims that the country should be ruled according to the law and constitution. Sheikh Kaiser further stated that PML-N struggled for nine-long years against dictatorship facing irreparable losses during that era, unmatchable for the country and the verdict of ineligible was designed according to the whims of the President, but PML-N believed in the politics of reconciliation instead of confrontations. He said the people have strongly rejected the Governor's Rule in Punjab.
