Pakistan's top tennis player Aisamul Haq Qureshi and Pakistan number one Aqeel Khan brought Pakistan to the 2-0 lead on the opening day and on the second day they both combined to win the double tie too. The Aisam and Aqeel pair overcame Oman brother Mohammad and Khalid aftet little fight. They both won the first two sets and lost the fourth to comeback hard in the fourth to win the doubles match and the tie. The score being 6-4, 6-2, 5-7, 6-2. Besides, Aisam and Aqeel, Jalil Khan, Yasir Khan and non-playing captain Rashid Malik are representing Pakistan in the prestigious tennis tie. Talking to this scribe, Rashid said that Aisam and Aqeel played wonders to win the tie for Pakistan and as the tie has been won, he would give exposure to Jalil and Yasir in the reverse games. "They are the hopes of Pakistan after Asiam and Aqeel. Our top players did their job and it is now up to these two to prepare themselves for the big time tennis," he added. In the first match on day one, Aisam ul Haq Qureshi of Pakistan proved too good against his opponent at hard surface and led Pakistan 1-0 in the match. Aisam overcame Khalid Al Nabhani in straight sets 3-0. The score-line was 6-2, 6-3, 6-2. In the second encounter, Aqeel Khan bruised a side his challenger Mohammad Al Nabhani 3-2 in a well-contested five set match. Mohammed Al Nabhani gained the winning lead 2-0 in the best of five set match by claiming first two sets at 6-4 and 7-6(5). However, Aqeel Khan bounced back in the match by displaying top quality game in the rest of the three sets. The final score-line was 4-6, 6-5 (5), 6-4, 6-3, 6-1. He played excellent strokes to win the match and made Pakistan's lead 2-0 in the tie. The doubles competition between Aisan ul Haq Qureshi & Aqeel Khan of Pakistan and Khalid Al Nabhani & Mohammed Al Nabhani of Oman will be played on Sunday (today) at the same venue.
