"Sami for court trial if MPs restore Nato supplies

PESHAWAR - Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (JUI) and Chairman Defa-e-Pakistan Council (DPC) Maulana Samiul Haq has said that if the Nato supplies were restored through the parliament, the elected representatives would be considered violators of their oath, and they should be tried at the court of law.
This he said while addressing a public gathering here at Garhi Sherdad, Warsak Road, on Sunday. Besides him, JUI-S Deputy Secretary General Maulana Hamidul Haq Haqqani, Provincial Ameer Maulana Yousaf Shah, former deputy speaker Ikramullah Shahid, and other leaders also addressed the gathering that was part of the preparations for the next gathering of Difa-e-Pakistan Council in Peshawar on April 15. Maulana Samiul Haq said that the US wants the restoration of Nato supplies route for which they are mounting pressure on the rulers and the government is trying to comply the US demand through the parliament.
He added that certain political parties in the Parliamentary Committee on National Security to frame proposals for the new terms and conditions with the US, have now expressed their reservations, he added and questioned why have they done so right now. The elected parliamentarians have taken oath to remain loyal to the Constitution, he said and added if they approved the recommendations for the restoration of Nato supply via Pakistan then they would be considered violators of their oath and they should be tried, he remarked.
He also pointed that if the supply was restored then the US may also demanded to hold their own security inside Pakistan for the protection of the supply, which he warned would be a challenge for the security of the country. It is time to sense the situation, he said and think about the interests of the country and its masses. He also termed a joke, the fixation of head money of Hafiz Saeed and vowed to show their strength in the Difa-e-Pakistan Conference in Peshawar.
