LAHORE - Maryam Nawaz, daughter of PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif has stated her father as a symbol of change in the country who not only refused to take the US dictation but also responded to India in the same language in 1998. She was addressing a Women Convention held at Alhamara Hall here on Thursday. Maryam said, Had Nawaz given a chance to complete his tenure, Pakistan would have become a developed country like Turkey, Malaysia and Singapore. All the big projects including Motorways, Ghazi Brotha Dam and Coastal Highway, she said, were constructed in her fathers era. She also criticized former dictator Pervaiz Musharruf for toppling the elected government of her father. She ruled out criticism on their business, saying that her elders did a great deal to establish it not only in Pakistan but abroad also. In her address, she praised the efforts made by Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif for facing the dengue epidemic bravely. She also stressed her support for the development of people. She said that only Pakistan Muslim League could save the ideological and geographic boundaries of the motherland.
