LAHORE - Pakistan's tennis ace Aisamul Haq Qureshi is likely to join the team in the country's Davis Cup tie scheduled to be played in Phillipnines. Rubbishing reports of the player's rifts with the Pakistan Tennis Federation, Aisam's father said that the player was scheduled to play the Hall of Fame tournament, an ATP event extremely important to Aisam's international ranking and would have serious bearing on his future participation in big events . He said Aisam had already got the visa for Phillipines and due to clash of dates, he could not accompany the team from Pakistan. He further said that due to a tough ATP points system, missing this tournament could cast shadows on his future qualification for big international events. He said Aisam was in telephonic contact with Pakistan's Davis Cup officials on daily basis. Aisam has previously sacrificed his personal achievements whenever the PTF has asked him to. Now when the player is at the fag end of his career, he is struggling to ensure the country's participation in prestigious international events. It is a failure of the PTF that it has not managed to build proper back up for national players Aisam and Aqeel Khan.
