Five dead as fire engulfs Lahore’s LDA plaza

At least five persons were killed and two others injured while several others trapped when a fire erupted at LDA plaza in Lahore on Thursday, rescue sources said.
Fire erupted at the seventh floor of 13-storey LDA building around noon and rapidly engulfed three other floors.
Three men, in an attempt to save their lives, jumped from the burning floor of LDA plaza and severely injured.
Several fire tenders and dozens of rescue workers are busy to control the furious fire started at 7th floor of the building, situated at Egerton road of the city.
People trapped in the building were evacuated through an army helicopter but a deep black smoke created difficulties in the rescue work.
