The Head of the Unification Block in the Punjab Assembly said on Sunday that his block will ask PML-N to dismantle the Punjab Assembly and will join hands with the N-league if it agreed to do so. Dr. Tahir Ali Javed, the head of the Unification Block in the Punjab Assembly told a private TV channel that senates election would not be possible in the case of devolution of the Punjab Assembly as those are only possible with electoral colleges of all four assemblies. He said that if the Provincial government dissolved the Provincial assembly prior to Senate elections, the Unification Block would fully support the move. PML-N would have to take aggressive steps, in order to block PPPs inroads into senate, prior to Senate elections; and dissolving the Provincial Assembly was the only such solution, he maintained, adding that such as step would help block PPPs majority in Senate elections. This would be an incomplete electoral collage, forcing new elections, he said. However sources at PML-N have categorically rejected mulling or deciding any such move, citing partys prudent and responsible attitude. Javed further said that halting the senates election is the only way to get rid of the current federal government.
