CDGL working to save Lahorites from dengue

LAHORE - With the three-day regular fumigation drive from March 21 to 23 has failed to provide desired results therefore City District Government Lahore has started working on action plan to save the Lahorites from looming threat of Dengue fever. The union council wise fumigation drive, started from Thursday, would conclude on May 6 with the completion of fog spray in all 150 UCs in Lahore. This time around, the CDGL officials have been given the task to coordinate at town level and counter check the report signed by the concerned Town Municipal Officer. The UC wise fumigation drive has been started simultaneously in all nine towns on Thursday and would complete on different days depending upon areas of different towns. In Wahga Town, the fumigation drive will complete on April 27, in Shalimar and Aziz Bhatti towns on April 28, in Ravi and Gulberg towns on April 30, in Nishtar and Data Gunj Bukhsh towns on May 5 and in Samanabad and Iqbal towns on May 6. The coordinators for different towns are; District Officer Food Dr Masood Ashraf for Gulberg Town, DO Health 2 Dr Shabbir Ahmed for Samanabad Town, DOH 1 Dr Ishaq for Iqbal Town, DOH 3 Dr Iqbal Niazi for Aziz Bhatti Town, DO (MCH) Dr Nasreen for Data Gunj Bukhsh Town, District Coordinator NF Dr Kaleem-ur-Rehman for Wahga Town, DOH 1 Dr Muhammad Hanif for Nishtar Town, Program Coordinator DHDC Dr Ziaud Din for Shalimar Town and DDOH Naeem Ullah for Ravi Town. As per the action plan devised for fumigation in every nook and corner of the City, the team carrying out spray will submit report to the concerned TMO on daily basis. After verifying the report, the TMO would forward the same to the concerned coordinator. The coordinators would counter check the report and then would forward the same to the Executive District Officer Health for further submission to the District Coordination Officer. Officials said that a comprehensive strategy has been devised this time that would help getting good results. They expressed hope that the fumigation drive would prove a success due to close monitoring and proper coordination among different departments.
