LAHORE - PML-Q Chief Ch Shujaat Hussain and Central Leader Ch Pervaiz Elahi have said formation of national government is a 'must to steer the country out of the existing crises. The PML-Q leaders expressed these views while addressing a meeting of Faisalabad chapter leaders at their residence on Saturday. They said PPP and PML-N were part of one game and fooling the masses by uttering critical statements against each other. Ch Shujaat and Ch Pervaiz said tactics of the coalition partners to impose the local bodies system of their choice would not succeed. Land grabbers were operating in Faisalabad freely under the patronisation of Punjab Law Minister Rana Snaullah, while the coalition partners in the incumbent set up have broken all records of corruption, they said. Ch Shujaat said the Punjab government could get Rs 15 billion by imposing fine instead of demolishing the plazas but it seems the chief minister feels satisfaction by teasing other people. He said rulers of Punjab did not care for the interests of the masses, as they had no stakes here and their money was lying in foreign accounts. Ch Shujaat said neither they got any loan nor did they get it waived off. He said Maulana Abdul Aziz came to console him on the death of his mother after his release from prison and thus cleared all the suspicions against PML-Q regarding its role in the Lal Mosque operation. Ch Pervaiz Elahi said the Punjab chief minister has not initiated any inquiry against the nazimeen. All the attempts were aimed at maligning the achievements of the previous government. He said Shahbaz Sharif stopped the funds of the district governments soon after taking the office of chief minister that deprived the people of the province from several projects of public welfare. The rulers of Punjab who claimed to be saviours of the people of Punjab have increased the prices of wheat and protests by the masses in various cities have exposed the tall claims of the government regarding good governance, said Pervaiz. He said labourers of Faisalabad power looms had staged several protest demonstrations but the provincial government remained indifferent to their problems. Ch Moonis Elahi, Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Ch Zaheer-ud-Din, Raja Basharat, Ch Asim Nazeer, Rana Zahid Tauseef, Mumtaz Cheema, Ali Akbar, Safdar Shakir also addressed the party meeting.
