LAHORE - A landlord shot dead his wife before shooting himself at home in Liaqatabad, police said on Wednesday.
The tragedy took place in front of three children and the sister-in-law of, the police said. Citing sister-in-law Hina Bibi, the investigators said Muhammad Imran and his wife, Nosheen Bibi, exchanged harsh words over a domestic dispute.
According to her, Imran got infuriated, took out a gun, and shot dead his wife. Seconds later, he shot himself in the temple and died on the spot, she told the police.
“The bodies were lying, next to each other, in a pool of blood while the frightened children were wailing as we reached the crime scene,” a cop said.
Resident of Sahiwal, Imran, tied the knot with Nosheen of Gujranwala eight years ago. The couple along with their three children was residing in a rented house in Liaqatabad for the past four months. Police investigators said that the relations between the couple were not cordial as they used to fight over domestic disputes. Further investigation was underway.
Caught: A terror suspect was arrested from Liaqatabad and shifted to unknown location for interrogation, a local news channels claimed on Wednesday. According to reports, a joint team of police and intelligence operatives raided a timber store and arrested the suspect, said to be a resident of northwest region.
However, the police did not confirm the arrest.
