Army averts terror attack at GHQ: Kaira

Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said that Saturdays terror attack in Rawalpindi was not a security lapse but the army jawans foiled terrorism at Generals Headquarters, as the terrorists were effectively obstructed at the first picket established to check the intruders. Addressing traders at Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) here, he said that four terrorists have been killed, while six army jawans martyred in the incident. The terrorists are now desperate and on the run but the law enforcement agencies and the army is fully prepared to handle and defeat them, he said, adding that terrorism has been routed out from Swat and isolated incidents would soon stop. Kaira said that Kerry Lugar Bill is not a loan but an assistance by the US administration, which has nothing to do with Pakistan national and security concerns.
