Gilanis son thrashes warden

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A car-rider, said to be the son of PM Yousuf Raza Gilani, thrashed a helpless warden at The Mall after the policeman intercepted his car for violating a traffic line. Mosa Gillani left the crime scene with protocol soon after the SP Civil Lines Omer Saeed Malik sent his staff to rescue the PMs son. Some eyewitnesses claimed to have seen a warden publicly being beaten by Mosa Gilani on The Mall during a rally demo. They said a rally was passing on Mall Road when Mosa flanked by his buddies arrived and started taking wrong turn to avoid rally on which a traffic warden namely Shakeel signaled the vehicle to stop. A Honda City (LEA/11/554) occupied by three persons including the guy who claimed himself as Mosa Gillani was going somewhere but when they reached near a leading local hotel situated on The Mall, a traffic officer signaled them. Instead of appreciating the courage of dutiful warden, exercising the powers of his father, Mosa came out of the car and started thrashing the hapless warden, eyewitnesses said. He added the guy also telephoned SP Civil Lines Omer Saeed and informed about the matter on which the SP sent his personal staff officer Sub-Inspector Arif along with other officers reached the spot and advised the cop to remain mum till the matter is hushed up. The SP, however, denied of happening of such incident. The Chief Traffic Officer SSP Syed Ahmed Mobeen switched off his cell number minutes after the incident took place, perhaps, in order to avoid responding the queries of the media men.
